The Living Passion is a performance that takes place in the town of Castro Urdiales every year the Good Friday day  and lasts a few 6 hours. It takes place on the Esplanade of the Church of Santa María and begins at 10 in the morning.

The origin of the Living Passion of Castro Urdiales is from year 1984, when a group of young people who were attending a summer camp decided, together with Father "Sandalio", to create a representation of the Passion of Christ. It was performed for the first time in 1985.

The first years of representation were difficult to carry out, but over the years, it has become a reference within the representations of the Passion.

Every year, the town is transformed into a stage where more than 600 neighbors They relive the Passion of Christ.

There are 15 scenes those that are represented by the streets of the historic center of the City. The scenes are as follows: 1. The Last Supper; 2. Gethsemane Prayer. Judas kiss. Arrest; 3.
